HEXONET Activating 2-Factor Authentication on February 1, 2016

What is it 2-Factor Authentication (2FA)?

2FA is a highly secure method login that requires a two step verification that greatly improves the security of your account.  Once you activate 2FA for your account, you are required to provide your normal password, as well as, an automatically generated code that changes periodically to login. The auto-generated code is obtained using an 2FA application (listed below).  To access your account users will need to (1) know their username/password and (2) have access to your phone to obtain the secondary auto-generated code.

• The benefits. 2FA provides a higher level of protection for your HEXONET account and the data held within it by reducing the risk of an intruder or attacker gaining access.
• I already have a Passphrase - do I need 2FA as well?  2FA is a more secure since requires the use of an additional device, it replaces the Passphrase system. However, the Passphrase system will still exist and is still available to those who opt-out of 2FA.
  
• How to activate and use 2FA? Simply install one of the list applications below on your phone, log in into the Control Panel and then enable the 2FA to connect HEXONET's login with the phone application.  Once you have enabled 2FA for your account, you will be required to have both your regular password and the code generated by the 2FA phone application in order to log onto your HEXONET Account.
